“The Church is the only institution that exists primarily for the benefit of those who are not its member” — William Temple, 1881-1944, former Archbishop of Canterbury.
As a parish church, St Thomas’ exists for everyone in our community–not just for the members of our congregation. Through our outreach activities and our partnerships with community groups, our parish hall is busy almost every day of the week. We offer our facilities for free, or at cost, to many non-profit organizations in Millbrook. Our Priest-in-Charge is always available for pastoral/sacramental care or spiritual conversation with anyone. Members of our congregation are actively involved in a wide variety of community groups such as the Millbrook Food Share, the Lions’ Club, Community Care Millbrook, the Millbrook Manor, Centennial Place long-term care facility, the Cavan Monaghan Public Library, the Millbrook Medical Centre, 4th Line Theatre, Millbrook & District Garden Club, the Girl Guides, the community garden, and a number of other community organizations. Our Anglican Church Women’s group is available for catering teas, receptions, and home-cooked meals at very reasonable prices.
